Workshop - Gilding
"A textured material effect, a prestige brand"

Gilding, or "hot printing", consists of transferring a film of coloured pigments onto the paper using heat (80°C to 160°C) which acts on a hot-melt adhesive.

The pigments can be gold, silver, matte or glossy, diffraction, pearlescent, transparent or coloured (including white). The engraving required for printing is done in relief, chemically or mechanically (magnesium, brass or copper), for the most frequent needs, or by hand in some cases.
